When I played on my serve yesterday, suddenly I couldn't add items to my inventory using "just enough items", it said that the item with the name "item name" couldn't be found, and when I added it to my inventory with creative mode, the item would disappear. I also couldn't craft the items, it would craft for a split second, then the items would return to the crafting interface, and the crafted item would disappear.
l tried running the server again today, and now the "just enough items" interface is gone, all modded tabs in creative mode's inventory is gone, and I can't get modded items with the give command (so pretty much it's like the mods aren't there). Strangely the mods are still listed when I select "mods" in the menu.
I haven't added or removed any mods, but this time I ran the forge server jar and I got this error when I tried to join my server: Fatally missing blocks and items.
No you didn't. One of the provided logs is from a vanilla server run. It even has a different timestamp then the server FML log.
The pastebin link in my last post for the latest.log for my server doesn't contain the word forge in it like the rest, so I'm assuming its that one.
I ran the forge server just now (careful making sure I picked "forge-1.10.2-12.18.1.2011-universal.jar", and I double checked and the server's information window on the right had a bunch of stuff with the word "forge" in it. I also ran Minecraft forge just now and it had the forge version at the title screen and even a message asking if I want to update the "better pvp mod". I joined my server and it said "Fatally missing blocks and items."
My server's latest.log from this try didn't have anything about forge either. Here's the logs I got from this run:
Take a look at your first set of server log timestamps:
FML log clearly marks server running between 12:20 - 12:27. latest.log has another server instance at 12:32 - 12:35. 5 minutes later.
Either you didn't grab both logs at the same time, or that second server start was in vanilla mode.
Client log timestamps from the first post show client started 12:28 and tried connecting 12:34, which matches server's latest.log session 12:32 - 12:35.
Other log sets have matching timestamps everywhere.
All the "symptoms" you describe in the first post paint a classic "connected a modded client to a vanilla server" scenario. Running a modded world through a vanilla server even once will cause irreversible damage.
You're getting kicked from the server now due to item/block mapping issues. Either caused by mod files not matching between server and client (Lucky Block mostly). Or due to save damage caused by loading a modded world in a vanilla server.
Thanks, I reinstalled the client and it didn't fix it, so I then wiped out the server (luckily we didn't get that far) and reinstalled it and it's working fine now. I'm definitely back it up, but what if a friend joins my modded server using a vanilla client, will that break my server?
