I have my own village with 21 houses and 6(7) villagers 0 Golems) I'm using VillageInfo mod.
So 3 of them are huddled together in one building, never leave, at one point I thought I'd get a little villager but no, another villager sits in a room by himself and hasn't left that room yet. He doesn't move from the chair.
One villager does come out and moves around.
Another villager is also inside a different house and does nothing. I've given them carrots, potatoes and nothing happens.
I have two gardens that they don't do anything with.
I also have a well
I've no idea what is missing. I've read up and watched videos on every aspect of villages, and I don't see what I'm doing wrong.
If you want them to breed naturally you should have more doors, about 3 times as many doors as you want villagers.
If all your houses have valid doors (which is probably what Villageinfo is showing you) With 21 doors the villagers will stop breeding when there are 7 adult villagers. (A valid door has more roof on one side that the other, counted 5 blocks straight out on either side and not counting the block the door is standing on.)
Alternatively, if you drop all but one villager at least 6 blocks down below the doors they won't be counted in the village population but will still breed as long as there is at least one villager near the doors. Then when there are enough you can let them back up to the surface. Make sure you don't leave them just breeding and breeding but as long as there isn't a farm and farmer they should only breed when you feed them or trade with them.

Wait, you say a villager is sitting and has a chair? From the name of the mod I thought it just gave you information but obviously it or some other mod does more. My answer works in vanilla MC and might well help you but you might want to see if there is a thread about the mod in the mod section of the forums and ask there for further information.
Right, I understand the procedure about gettting more villagers, According to the VillageInfo mod, the number in the brackets indicates how many more villagers one can have in relation to the number of 'doors' . So I'm allowed one more villager, but it's not happening.
As for the villager sitting in the chair, all my houses have the table and chairs, this one villager just sits in his chair and does nothing at all.
I understand the process of breeding, what I'm having a problem with is the fact that out of all 6 villagers, only one is out and about during the day.
I do thank you for the response. Every suggestion is appreciated.
Can you show us a high overview pic of your village and maybe the entrance of the house that you have 3 villagers just sitting inside all the time? Just guessing but it sounds like you might have some pathing issues.
Is that VillageInfo mod correct for the Minecraft version you're running?
Villagers only breed until the number of villagers is less than or equal to 35% of the valid doors. You might not have the right types of villagers for them to use the farm. Can you please show a picture of your farm from above?
Sorry it took so long to respond. All seems to be working correctly now. I also have a golem that spawned and the villagers do come out.
I am curious to know though, why the center of the village isn't in the center. It's the house to the right of the only house on the left with the brown roof. So the golem only parades along the left of the pic, where the 4 houses are.

Just testing.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
