So as the title says I have two identical Laptops and one just cannot run minecraft at more than 1 fps, however the other can.
The one that is being super slow, when looking at the shift+f3 pie chart, is showing 97.5% usage in tick when playing the game, but the working one has 0.2% usage.
The slow one when paused, and no ticks are being used, runs exactly the same as the working one.
Task manager shows that both are running the CPU at 98% when playing.
I dont know if something in the CPU is defective
its a Dog of a CPU, 1.7Ghz dual core pentium, but they are identical in each machine so i dont believe this is the problem and everything but minecraft runs exactly the same on each.
The working one, using the exact same settings as the slow one, gets 50fps average.
The slow laptop runs fine in any other program, it is just minecraft that is slow.
I have fully reinstalled Minecraft and Java.
Im not sure what more information that is relevant I can give and having a working identical laptop is useful for having a baseline but I ave no idea where else to go from.
Neither laptop has a dedicated GPU, internals only, As I say I have two separate laptops that are exactly the same just one runs like a snail with heavy shopping when calculating ticks or something.
well, all i can recommend you is to compare every single setting (which you probably already tried), including things like java arguments, driver settings, dxdiag etc etc.
the only logical explanation is that some settings are not the same - and you need to find them. sorry, but that's all the advise i can give you.
Your CPU is old under-powered to run Minecraft, It may have become damaged running. Saying it has ran 98% while playing it gets hot. Use CUPID HWMonitor to monitor PC temperatures. 80c for both AMD and Intel Processors is their limit before damage can occur.

Curse Premiumdoes that laptop have a graphics card (no graphics chip)? if yes, make sure it uses it (displayed in f3).
