my minecraft unmodded usually gets 100+ fps and recently I installed LabyMod with optifine, etc and I was still getting my nice smooth 100+ fps but recently SOMETHING has happened! my fps is dropping down and wont go above 60. I reinstalled another 2gb of ram. took it in and out. same 60fps limit.
I have a NVidia graphics card I think a 480. in minecraft vsync is off and NVidia control panel is set to Use Adaptive (which is off in minecraft).
Yes,yes I know having over 60fps+ causes screen tearing but I don't care. I just wanna know what the problem is and how to fix so I can learn in the future.
I tried without my mods. same problem.
Please help.

4gb ram
Nvidia gtx 480
windows 7 something
emachine moniter if that helps.
