I bought a new computer about 2 months ago, first, i had no problem at all, it did run minecraft at 400 - 600 fps. But lately, it still does run minecraft at 400 - 600 fps but it keeps dropping to 0 fps every 2 minutes. I dont know what causes this to happen. I have no mods, no other clients. Just vanilla minecraft at its own. And this fps keeps dropping to 0 fps for 5 - 6 seconds every 2 minutes and it drives me craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy! im sick of it. i tried to update my java, reinstalling minecraft, cleaning the launcher modpacks from the appdata folder. everything! it keeps dropping the fps! I give this game 8 GIGABYTES OF FREE SPACE what causes that i really wonder. I have 16 GB ram and i give it the half of it. what is the problem what is it! im sick of it! please help. ty.
700 FPS, in windowed mode, looking at the ground, 0 Chunk updates, most likely super flat world. Please, who you trying too fool?. You don't need 8GB of ram allocated on vanilla. Java has a hard time processing large amounts of memory anyways. Unless your like everyone else who thinks adding more ram is gonna help your FPS.
i took that screen shot with trying to be quick. like i said its usually 300 - 600. also i took that picture to show "other" things being showed up there. not to show my fps.

Moderatorpost the arguments used to allocate more ram to minecraft
-Xmx8G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn8192M
Option 1:
-Xmx(your ram in GB or MB) -Xms(your ram in GB or MB)
so it will be like: -Xmx4G -Xms4G
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Option 2: Install OptiFine Mod Here.
I'm TheCoolSteveMan, you can call me CSM for short!
actually optifine gives me even less fps and more fps drops. but i will try your first option. i will update you soon. thanks.
and still happening.
Try turning VBOs on, try turning on one of these settings on optifine:
Performance tab>Smooth FPS>ON
>Fast Render>ON
>Lazy Chunk Loading>ON
>Fast Math>ON
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm TheCoolSteveMan, you can call me CSM for short!
still same. :/
What if you limit your FPS to whatever your screen refresh rate is? Having anything more than that is really unnecessary as it is.
Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
Alpha 1.0.4
HAHAHAHA foot meet bullet.
just keep digging that hole deeper.
"Doctor it hurts when I do this"
Or in other words: If you don't know what it does, don't touch it.

How to get dxdiag
unlimited fps.
i took that screen shot with trying to be quick. like i said its usually 300 - 600. also i took that picture to show "other" things being showed up there. not to show my fps.
when i give it 1 gb i get around 40 - 50 fps. 100 fps on super flat worlds with maximum.
yeah also i have been playing with these options for so long. this issue started to happening recently.

Curse PremiumAre you using updated graphics drivers? What are your systems specs? If you don't mind posting a DxDiag, preferably in a spoiler.
