Hello! Im fairly new to modding minecraft, last time I tried modding minecraft I got a virus and had to get a new computer. Im only 11 y/o turning 12 in 4 days. So my friend told me about MC Modinstaller. I thought id better try it out. So i got a couple things including FTB Launcher and the Modinstaller. Now I have 2 problems one for each. On Feed The Beast, I keep installing a 64 bit java but it keeps tellin me to install it again and its not recognizing it. On Modinstaller the game keeps crashing. (If you need the console i have it if you need it) But the odd thing is, is on my dads laptop it worked perfectly. Please help. I never really have had the experiance of mods as their is always to much lag please help. Thank You.

My honest advice: don't bother. Just enjoy vanilla minecraft. Judging by the sentence "I never really have had the experiance of mods as their is always to much lag please help", modding might not be for you. Many mods require some higher end PC's. Most laptops aren't cut out for very many mods, especially the extensive packs that many mod installers will try to set up for you. For the longest time I was playing on a smaller PC with only 4GB RAM and an i5, and that was about the weakest PC I've ever seen run more than the most basic of minecraft mods. If you really want mods, pick one, maybe two mods that you really want and watch a lot of youtube videos about using forge and how to install those specific mods. It's usually quite easy, you shouldn't need a mod installer. But again, my advice is to just stick to vanilla until you've had some time to learn about mods, their functions, what they actually do, and most importantly, pick up some odd jobs to save some money and buy a PC (8GB RAM, Intel i5 processor, and really any graphics card ought to do it).

And your main problem because you have a coremod conflict. You either installed two copies of the same mod (Automated installer's fault?) or you installed mods with identical features that clash.

No, there's no info which mods are conflicting as the code is too generic. No it's not the Open Blocks issue, but you might have duplicates of their coremod.

Post FML log for more details. But you actually checking what's inside your mods folder and fixing obvious issues like duplicates wouldn't hurt.

There is not modpack with "lots of mods" that will run well on your system. I'm willing to bet you're running on integrated graphics, and unfortunately, that simply isn't going to cut it. Also, the mods folder that AdminGamer101 was referring to is in your .minecraft. What you really need to do to install mods manually (which you're going to have to if you insist on heavily modded game-play) is go to the forge website and download the "installer". I suggest using minecraft 1.7.10, as most mods are at least up to this version right now. Run the installer and after that your vanilla minecraft launcher should have a new profile that says forge (and probably whatever version it is). Run minecraft once with that profile (not the same as an account btw) and then close out of everything. After that, press the windows key and the R key at the same time. A small window should open. In that window type %appdata% and then hit enter. This should open your roaming folder. You should see a folder called .minecraft. Open this folder and navigate to the folder called mods. This folder was created by forge when you ran minecraft earlier and closed out of it. Now you can go get whatever mods you want, in either a .jar or .zip format and place it directly in that mods folder. (Only download mods from a trusted source such as http://files.minecraftforge.net/)

After that you simply need to run minecraft again with the forge profile and your mods will be in use. Try not to use too many mods, especially large mods, as they often conflict with things such as enchantment ID's and biome ID's. This is usually was causes a lot of crashes, and it's often a pain to fix. If none of this helped, just check youtube. There are loads of good tutorials there.
