Last thing you want to do is allocated the unused ram to make it more useless (As Java has a hard time processing large amounts of memory). Vanilla MC doesn't need much ram 1GB is good enough.
Hi !
I updated my Java installation and now, everytime i try to load a save, the game crashes.
I wanted to upgrade from 32bit to 64bit and got my new Java version from this site:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
It doesn't matter if install 32 or 64bit, the game crashes every time.
My last (and now uninstalled version) was from december, i don't remember what version it was.
The game is unmodded, my OS is Win7 64bit.
Here is a picture of the crash dump:
If anyone could help me, that would be great.
Greetings from Germany,
Anita

Curse PremiumPost the log as a text file. Nobody can read that picture.
"We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."
Sorry, my mistake. I thought you could enlarge the picture.
How do i post a .txt in a forum?
Cut and paste it. Use a spoiler => "!" control on the tool bar.
Okay, thanks gerbil!

In an Administrator shell (http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/unmodified-minecraft-client/2243110-bootstrap-error?comment=2) run the command "netsh winsock reset"
Holy Bananas, that did work!
Thank you gerbil !
I got one additional question regarding RAM.
I activated the JVM Arguments and they look like this:
-Xmx1G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M
My PC has 8 GB of RAM and when i play, i only have VLC in the background running, so i have a lot of unused RAM.
To give Minecraft 2GB RAM, i only have to change the first argument from -Xmx1G to -Xmx2G, right ?
