So I have a pretty big mod list around 54 give or take a few. I have been playing and modding since before 1.5.2 however this one has me stumped and i cannot figure it out for the life of me. I recently installed 3 new mods to my list, Better Villages, Extended Villages, and Helpful Villagers. My goal was to create a large colony connected between the villages and make a massive kingdom. However since installing these mods my minecraft has been doing this weird thing where every mob freezes and blocks I place have no sound when placed. I can move freely and destroy/build anything. However, After a minute it begins to lag horribly and eventually the game will crash without saving so everything I just dd is rolled back. Also if i notice when it happens and i save and quit to title it still crashes my game and rolls me back to last save point.
Things i have tried to fix it:
- Removing each mod recently installed one by one to find the source.
- Fresh install of 1.7.10 re-modded with same mods newest versions.
- Editing config files of mods that take up severe ram when rendering in their blocks Example: Applied energistics: Removed asteroid spawn to reduce memory load.
- Attempted giving minecraft more allocated memory from the little i have (8.00GB 6.95GB Usable) it now has access to 100% allocated memory however only uses 50-60%
- Removed every mod installed one by one to track the source (took hours)
- Killed all background processes to increase memory space and closed all unnecessary programs through task manager.
If anyone has had this issue and found a fix I would LOVE a reply it has gotten so every 2-5 minutes i have to relaunch my game and redo 3/4 of what i just did. Hope to get a response soon. Thank you
Ok that's weird since i haven't used thaumcraft in months. Completing it over 25 times got boring lol But i will definitely take a look for any residual files. I wouldn't have even thought to look for that since it's not even installed. I will let you know what the outcome is.
It is a possibility alot of my mods i use are normally stack-able with other mods and open up new recipes and items together rather than alone. However i did find some residual files for Thaumcraft and removed them i also found some left over scraps from the 3 mods i recently installed then removed. Deleted those 2 and it seems to be working properly now. For some reason some of the files were deep withing the .jar and hidden within the config files of other mods such as vein miner. Thank you all for your hope I will continue to monitor the game-play and inform if anything changes.
