Hopefully someone will see this and be able to point me in the right direction. As far as computer specs go, I'm pretty much a noob. I'm looking for help to figure out what I need to run intensive packs like those found on FTB, without horrible FPS, (preferably at least 60). I currently have a five year old laptop with a dual-core Intel Pentium 2.4 GHz processor, 12 GB of RAM, and an integrated Intel HD Family Graphics card, needless to say I can barely get those modpacks to run, let alone smoothly. I am thinking of getting a new laptop, but as I don't know a whole lot about computer specs, I was hoping someone who is able to run those kinds of modpacks on a laptop could give me an idea of what I really need.

What is a "Halfway decent" dedicated graphics card? I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to computer specs, so could you give me a couple of examples of what you would consider halfway decent?

The RX 460 is amazing for the price. Probably the best entry level GPU out there right now.
