Hi. So, I have a bunch of mods installed which add biomes to my world. The problem is, which should be no surprise for a heavily modded client, is some of these biomes are spawning in the overworld when they shouldn't be. I'm sure this issue has been brought up a thousand and one times, and from what I can gather should have been fixed in a BOP update, though it doesn't seem to have been. And I couldn't find any info on whether my solution will work. Anyway, I guess what I'd like to know is if I could switch the BOP IDs to above 128 and the other mods below? Will BOP biomes still spawn? Will it adversely affect my world in any way? Will BOP spawn as sub biomes in other dimensions?
TL,DR: Can I move all BOP biome IDs above 128 without issues?
The offending mods are as follows:
BOP, Twighlight Forest, Nevermine, The Erebus, Abyssalcraft, Buildcraft, Thaumcraft, The Aether II.
I have a ton of other mods in the pack (262 to be exact), however these are the only mods which use biome IDs as far as I can tell.
The mod I'm having the most issue with right now is the Erebus and its biomes (they also seem far too common). I was having issues with Nevermine and thought I had fixed that until I found Iromines hugging some highlands. Switch that guy around and haven't noticed an issue since, though maybe I haven't flown around enough. I've also read some players were having problems with Twighlight Forest, I haven't noticed the same.
Sooo... Can they all be switched or is there another solution?
So, you're saying I won't necessarily be notified of a conflict? I know about the Twighlight Forest conflict and fixed that one. But shouldn't the world crash or at least get some notification of the conflict? If not, how can I find the conflicting mod? I did an NEI biome dump, but didn't see any overlap.
As an aside, is there any way to change the names of the biomes? I have Mob Spawn Controls, but the BOP biomes have really long names and don't fit in the GUI window.
So, after playing around with the configs for awhile, I think I have it in order. Seems Erebus creates mutated biomes and these were overwriting some BOP biomes. Juggled around the IDs quite a bit and now everything seems to be generating fine. I'll come back here if I run into further issues. Much obliged for your assistance.
