You need to install compatible drivers for your graphics card, if you even have one. If you don't have one (which would be EXTREMELY odd), you will need one to play Minecraft.
On Windows 10? Nope. Depending on GPU vendor only hardware from as far back as 2007 (Nvidia), 2009 (AMD), or 2012 (Intel) is fully supported for Windows 10.
But the OP has Windows 7. So a 1st gen Intel HD (circa 2009-20011) will work. IF they actually install drivers.
My NVidia GeForce n3450 or whatever it is, a GPU from 2005, works still and plays minecraft AFTER the Windows 10 upgrade. I just had to install a windows 8 driver. Of course, that is not an actual Windows 10 driver, but it works with no problems yet.
Like I said, it doesn't look like they have any drivers installed for their GPU, and are instead using non-GPU basic display drivers. as in no OpenGL at all.
If you mean the FX 3450 then that's not a GeForce. It's a Quadro card. A dedicated business GPU that Nvidia has to support for decades due to how corporations are likely to use such hardware. I can find Quadro Windows 10 drivers for stuff from 2003.
Normal consumer GeForce cards? Only GeForce series 8 cards or newer are fully supported for Windows 10. And those launched in late 2006, most models in 2007.
Still, Nvidia's support is the longest of all GPU manufacturers. And their OpenGL support is usually the best.
The crux of the issue are cheapo Intel chips. Which:
1. Have horrible OpenGL support
2. Intel driver support leaves much to be desired for Windows 10. With making everything older then 2012 obsolete.
No, I know for a fact it IS a GeForce n-something-or-other designed in 2005.
Also, an even OLDER computer I never use, it's an XP, can run 1.8. The ONLY OpenGL requirements are that you have OpenGL 2.1 or higher. Oh and have accelerated pixel formatting I think.
There are no GeForce models with that designation. Unless you're taking about the nForce motherboard chipsets with integrated graphics. Which is yet another can of worms.
But you're missing my point here. I never said the game won't run. I'm not talkign about hardware OpenGL support from the GPU (Minecraft's absolute minimum requirement is OpenGL 1.3, which is why it can barely run on a lot of 10 year old stinkers).
I was talking about OpenGL driver availability. Which due to Microsoft's policy for Windows 10 is ... slim for older GPUs. And depends heavily on the manufacturer's good will.
Which is a digression not entirely relevant for this thread anyway. That reminds me:
Just to finish my statement, YES it is one of those horrible integrated GPU's, and I hated it from the day it was bought. Especially since the computer was bought in 2010, FIVE YEARS after that GPU was designed.
OK so every time i click on PLAY it goes straight to a little box that says-
'We're sorry but it seems there was an error while trying to render aspects of the game. To solve this error, it is recommended that you update your graphics drivers.'
everything i do seems to not work so please help me :/

Curse PremiumThat computer is 6 years old. You didn't specify what version of MC your using, but I doubt your able to play the newer versions (1.8+) on it.
Options:
1. Add a newer graphics card to the PC
2. Play older versions of MC
3. Get a newer computer

A computer with a graphics card from 2005 should be able to play Minecraft 1.10. I doubt it's the age of the computer.
