I recently made a gaming pc with i7, GTX 960 4Gb, and 16 Gb of RAM. I installed MC and forge 1.7.10, the latest Java but it won't let me add more RAM than 1Gb. The computer is 64 bit.

Can anyone help?

Make sure you install a 64-bit version of java. It doesn't matter if it's a 64-bit computer if the java version is 32-bit.
