Earlier today, I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10. The upgrade went smoothly, except I'm no longer able to connect to any Minecraft Java version servers. "Can't connect to server" is all I'm getting. This problem did not exist prior to my upgrade.
So far, I've tried to add Minecraft to the Firewall, and use different WiFi networks. I turned off the Firewall completely and this problem still existed, so I have to assume that the Firewall is not the problem. I am at a hotel, so it's possible their network has it blocked. However, I tried using a number of different WiFi options including my iPhone's personal hot spot and nothing changed. I'm assuming that the computer (or Windows 10) has the issue.
I've been searching for hours to no avail. If anyone could please give me links or detailed assistance, it would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.
UPDATE: It seems I can't get into single player either. Going into any world just crashes the game. If you need or want a crash report, let me know. Basically I've got two problems and they may or may not be related. I have no idea.
Here's the crash report...

Make sure your firewall allows minecraft services and any antivirus program.
I've allowed multiple if not all Java processes to the Firewall, including the 25565 ports outbound and inbound. I also just uninstalled Avast, the only anti-virus I had. Still not working.

Former everything.
