When I open Minecraft, I get the error, "Sorry, but we couldn't connect to our servers. Please make sure you are online and that Minecraft is not blocked. (SocketException: Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 10106: create)"
I know that this has been posted before, but none of the solutions I tried worked for me. I used both my username and my Email, I redownloaded the launcher, I deleted .minecraft, and I unplugged my router. This has been happening for a few months, so I know it is not the servers. On my other computers minecraft and the internet works fine, but on this one I have the "no bars, yellow sun-thing" symbol. The image is attached. It might be the firewall, but I have absolutely no idea how to allow minecraft through. I am a complete noob at this, so please try to dumb-down your responses
That symbol means, your not connected to the internet. Click it, choose your internet modem then put in the password then you will be able to connect to the internet.

I have tried that, but it says I am connected. I can access the internet fine as well, so I am not sure if there is an issue with the connection to Minecraft. Thanks for the quick response!
Also, when I do try to reconnect I get the attached error.
Are you using Wi-Fi? If so, it might be a problem with your wireless adapter (I had this problem once as well). Search Google for "wi-fi limited connection fix" and try different solutions to that. In my case, I had to update adapter drivers.
