I have been having an issue with Minecraft for about two months now. At some point into a session, the screen freezes and I can't see myself move. I can hear things happening around me and In can even hear myself breaking blocks; in fact, in realms, other people can see me moving around. I have waited hours for it to become unstuck, only to eventually have Java crash.
//edit// One other thing I wanted to mention. When it freezes, if I tab out of the game and tab back in, the screen is black and I never get anything on the screen. I can pause and un-pause the game using esc (I can hear the weather start and stop); I can move around and break/place blocks. the screen remains black though.
Minecraft rarely ever actually crashes, typically we just force close after some time.
I have updated all my drivers, including doing a fresh install of my graphics card driver. I have deleted every instance of Java and reinstalled it. I have used the bundled Java and the external Java. I have added access to 2Gb of ram. I have deleted Minecraft and the .minecraft folders and reinstalled using both the msi installer and the alternative launcher. I don't have any screen recording software installed. I have audited all of my temps to make sure everything is running properly. I have tuned VBO off and on. I have monitored my event viewer and tried to address anything that coincided with Minecraft freezing. There are a few other things that I have come across on the forums that I have tried and I have spend a lot of time with the people at the minecrafthelp webchat.
Here is a solid set of logs that I took right when Minecraft froze:
I am really frustrated by this. My desktop hasn't had any issues running Minecraft in the past - even with shaders on - at really high fps. If I can provide anything else that would help, let me know. Thanks for your time in advance.
Thanks for taking the time to try and help. Actually, I can run Arma 3 at the highest settings at an impressively high frame rate. I do have a little bit of trouble with Ark, but who doesn't...
I know Minecraft can be machine intensive, but I am fairly sure it can handle it.
Do you run updated GPU Drivers. Nvidia updates geforce drivers on a 2 week basis. Update these using Nvidia Geforce Experience[/i].
I update the drivers regularly through Nvidia Experiance, but just to be sure I did a fresh install of the latest driver. It didn't make a differance.
have you tried re-installing java?
I suspect that the issue has something to do with Java. Java does eventually crash. I am getting a reoccurning half command always right before it freezes that references Java. So I have tried every which way to adjust Java. I have deleted Java and reinstalled it; I have only used the bundled MC Java (without Java otherwise installed on the computer); I have used the alternative MC launcher that doesn't come with Java. I am not sure what to do next to try and isolate the issue or get it to stop when it comes to Java.
I have had a lot of people make referance to 64bit vs 32bit Java and which directory it is installed in. MC automatically downloads 64bit, but then by default installs it in the (86) programs directory. I am only bringing this up in case it triggers any ideas.
Thanks for taking the time to try and help. I am open to trying anything at this point...
Sorry if I revived an old thread, but I am having a very similar problem. I launch my Minecraft, play for a couple minutes, and the game suddenly freezes. I can hear myself pause the game and break blocks through sound, but the screen is completely frozen.
Any help is much appreciated.

@AusTexMax are you sure your computer is good enough to run Minecraft? Do you have problems running other games? Do you play other games?
Tom,

Please, Please. If anyone has any ideas... I am out of ideas.
