Hi I was having a bit of lag so i restarted my computer and it updated. When I came back i tried logging on to one of my single player worlds but it wont show up. If I look into %appdata% i can find it. But it wont show up on Minecraft itself does anyone know what to do.
Thank you I spent a lot of time on that world and hope I wont need to see it go.
Reason backups are a thing. If the world isn't in the folder and you do not have a backup saved somewhere else, Sad to say you maybe out of luck here, otherwise if you moved it to another location accidentally.
Saves won't show up in the list if the level.dat file is corrupted.
This file has important information in it like: your location, your inventory, your world's settings and seed.
There may be other damage to your save as well, if this file got corrupted other files may have been corrupted.
Replacing level.dat with a backup will put the world back in your list, but revert your location and inventory to that past point in time.
Replacing it with some other level.dat will replace your inventory and location, but more importantly your seed. Which means that any chunks that are regenerated in the future will look obviously out of place, because they belong to some other world, not yours.
