Hello everyone
2 years ago,my brother tried Minecraft on Samsung N110 netbook (1GB RAM,Mobile Intel (R) 945 Express Chipset Family,Intel (R) GMA 950,Windows 7 Starter 32-bit SP 1,Intel (R) Atom (TM) CPU N270 @1.60 GHz) and it lagged horribly, getting 2-5 FPS.Luckily, after many tweakings,I manage to get 20-40 FPS on a default world and 50-70 FPS on a superflat world.I have now made a guide on how to increase performance on a 1GB computer.
1.Change your power plan to High Performance (Windows 10-Vista) or Gaming Mode (Windows XP)
2.Download and install Optifine https://optifine.net/.After installing it,go to the video settings and select what Optifine tells you.
3.Download and install a low resolution resource pack. You can find many on the forums.
6.Go to Start, right click Computer, click Performance tools and information, click adjust visual style, click Adjust for best performance and click OK.Your computer will look like Windows 98,but it is faster.
7.On older processors, adjusting Minecraft's resolution lower will increase performance. On newer processors, going into fullscreen will increase performance.
8.While Minecraft is running, right click the taskbar and click Task Manager.Click processes and find javaw.exe.You will find two.Close the one with lower memory and change the priority of the bigger one to High.
9.Disk clean-up,defragmentation,etc all increase performance too.
10.(Intel users only) Right click the desktop and click Graphics Properties. Then click Display settings and click Power settings.Select Disable Power Savings.
11.Make sure that Minecraft is the only application open, since others will lag Minecraft. There is no need to leave Chrome open while playing Minecraft. If you want to search something, use another device. If you want to listen to music, use your phone/iPod.
12.(Intel users only)Right click the desktop and click Graphics Properties.Click 3D Settings and set the options to mine (I attached 2 pictures showing you the options).
Thanks for reading this. Please reply and tell me what difference did it make.If I missed out anything, then tell me.
P.S:I wish I could show a video. Is there any way I could put a video here without uploading it to Youtube?
