Ugh, I hate this new Curse client and their so-called "support" system. It attempts to be the glorified one-stop solution to access all modpacks, but the fact is it's a disaster, things regularly don't work, and there's really no way to openly discuss problems.
I cannot get Ozone to launch using all the defaults on one machine without digging around in the options, and selecting a previous Forge version. Their support team has been no help whatsoever.
FTB Unleashed, a classic modpack, simply refuses to launch at all when downloaded and run with all the defaults in the Curse client. Someone else mentioned this to me, so I thought I'd try it, and yep, it doesn't work for me either......
MC Launch log:
[03:58:19 ERROR]: Couldn't resolve version forge-10.13.4.1614
java.io.FileNotFoundException: F:\Data\MC\CurseClient\Install\versions\1.7.10\1.7.10.json (The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open)
MC Game Output log:
Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.SecurityException: class "bkf"'s signer information does not match signer information of other classes in the same package
Well I'll just post about this on the Curse client support forums and see how other people have resolved these problems. ...... oh, there are no forums? How are we as end-users supposed to be able to collaborate and help each other? Searching with Google for solutions is very helpful for fixing odd problems.
Nope, the only way to get support for these thousands of Minecraft modpacks is to submit them to this monolithic Curse support ticket system, that is completely hidden from the public without any way to involve other people experiencing the same problems.
For example here is my open ticket for Unleashed. Can anyone else offer input on this? I bet you can't even look at it, much less add a comment on it.
It's like we've had a corporate takeover of the Minecraft launcher platform by an image management team that doesn't want anything bad to be published about them or their shiny new buggy defective client in an open forum.
I'll be interested to see if this thread gets deleted or locked because saying bad things in public about our new corporate masters may not even be allowed.
