My Minecraft FPS drops to 10 when I join any world, and will not go over that unless I open the "esc" menu. For about 2-3 seconds when I join the world, FPS is stable at around 250 FPS until it drops nearly instantly to 10. Changing video settings does not affect FPS. I have already tried: reinstalling Java, reinstalling Minecraft, reinstalling video drivers, restarting my computer several times, and checking my CPU & GPU temps. Nothing has affected the FPS in the slightest bit. Please help, anything is appreciated.
This 10 fps is occurring at somewhat random times, with it lasting for hours at a time. I was playing yesterday for around 5-6 hours no issue, until it started happening again. It has never happened before Tuesday. As for drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled newest version of video drivers.
2 GB of RAM is allocated. Optifine doesn't affect the fps, but I do usually use Optifine. I've uninstalled MC and reinstalled, however I never deleted .minecraft. Might as well try that.
EDIT: Deleted .minecraft, uninstalled, and reinstalled Minecraft. So far so good.
Worked fine all day yesterday after the installation. Come back today, and I'm back to square 1. Having the same issue. Will reinstall once again and see what that does.
EDIT: Reinstalling does not work anymore. Very confused as to what this is.
I believe I just solved it! For some reason I have a program called "PlaysTV" that records games when I start them up, leaving a notification in the top left corner. I've never bothered to turn this off. Noticed the FPS drop occurred when the notification popped up, so I tried turning it off. FPS instantly fixes itself after turning it off. Hopefully this is it.

I should also add, this is ONLY affecting Minecraft. No other games are being affected.

Curse PremiumHow much ram do you have allocated to minecraft?
This issue has happened to other people with a rig like that, but haven't found out the reason why it does it. Tried optifine yet?
Or doing a install of the game from scratch? Make sure you make backups though.
