I ABSOLUTELY need to run minecraft in fullscreen for what I am trying to do. I'm trying to run an application called gameshare, which only works on fullscsreen applications. When I press f11 to go fullscreen the entire game freezes. If i press f11 again, the game goes back to window mode and its not frozen. Now I've found a ton of threads that show how to get the game back into window mode if you got stuck in fullscreen. Thats not my issue, i can get the game back into windowed mode, but thats not a solution, i MUST run the game in fullscreen and i haven't found any documentation on how to get it fullscreen without freezing. I have a gtx 970,windows 10, with latest drivers. I've tried running vanilla minecraft, and modded with optifine. I've tried changing the settings in optifine that deal with the resolution. None of this has worked thus far. I am running the latest version of java 8 64 bit. What is the issue, how do i fix it so that i can play in full screen. If someone gets me a solution i'll drop money in your paypal or gift you a 25 dollar amazon gift card. Thanks in advanced.
Yes, it says GTX 970 on f3 debug screen. It also does happen when I put it in full screen from the menu option in video settings. So yes. and Yes to both your questions.
I've updated my drivers from the updater application by nvidia. It says "your drivers are up to date"
applications that interact? I mean im trying to use nvidia's gameshare technology but it requires fullscreen. Its an overlay, that i can pull up by hitting alt+z, however i cant do that because it freezes everything, i cant do anything on my PC until i hit f11 again and put it back into window mode. i cant alt tab, or minimize with windowskey+m nothing. Everything freezes when i fullscreen, until i put it back into window.
I've solved it. I know what it is. Oddly enough, its because my monitor at my house is off. You're probably wondering what in the world im doing, and why im trying to play minecraft with my monitor off lmao. Well, I'm currently at work, and I'm connected to my PC at home. Using the nvidia gameshare technology i can connect back to my games and play at a full 60fps. I'm able to play overwatch with my monitor off at 60fps. but, I cant launch any other game in fullscreen, not only minecraft. I cant launch any steam games in fullscreen with my monitor off, only in windowed. I guess i have to remember to keep my monitor on before i go to work next time!! Thanks for helping me figure it out.
