I played minecraft before it was merged with Curse. I want to go back but i dont know how to do it anymore. Do i need to buy the game again? my curse account doesnt seem to offer any option.

Just download the game from minecraft.net
It's not officially merged with Curse, there is just a Curse launcher for it.
You can still use the default, Mojang launcher.
