Hello all i have been noticing the FPS on Minecraft has been rather low lately on my computer. Before on vanilla MC i would get around 400+ max 350-300 avg, and around 250 low, now i seem to be getting as low as 80 max, 70 avg, and 50 low. now i am aware this shouldn't be an issue as 60 FPS is more then enough however with such a drastic FPS drop I'm worried something might be wrong with my computer. i have not made any changes to the settings in minecraft since i started playing. I play with shaders and animals plus however with shaders my FPS never dropped under 80 now it only gets around 10 or lower.with all that being said I was wondering if there is a solution that can help me fix this issue or if I may need to take my PC in to get fixed.
Specs:
Intel core i7-4700HQ 2.4 GHz processor
8GB DDR3 RAM
1 TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive, 8 GB SSD
Nvidia GTX 860m Graphics card
thank you for your time and for assisting me if possible
Could be that the shaders mod you were using was updated and that drastically decreased FPS? Have you made an updates to your computer? New drivers, large programs, any type of malware? Test the FPS you get when no other programs are running (Go into task manager and x out of all your programs except Minecraft. Try these things, and post the results.
hmm I don't think that is the issue unless shaders updates itself I have not downloaded any updated versions lately I use SUES for 1.8 which has never given me any problems that didn't have quick fixes. Yes I did recently upgrade to Windows 10, could it be that? If so I'll just downgrade. Not that I'm aware of, just games but they've never been an issue, almost positive that's a no but I may be wrong I do have a payed virus protection program running though. I'll let you know if anything changes!
Ok so when you mentioned drivers I went to see if they needed any updates or not and of course they did. After updating I started minecraft and the frame rate is back to normal. Suppose I should check my driver more often heh, anyway thank you for helping me resolve the issue!
