I installed Pixelmon the same exact way on my desktop and my laptop (Both using Win7), by using the launcher to install both the latest forge and latest version of Pixelmon. My desktop has 10 gigs of RAM while my laptop only has 4 gigs.
They're both having memory leaks, however, my desktop is pretty high-end, so it experiences no lag regardless of the fact that the Javaw process is running at 2.7 gigs.
My laptop on the other hand, apparently cannot handle the 1.3 gigs that Javaw runs at on it. It never gets past the "loading/creating world" screen and after several minutes of waiting on it, will stop responding altogether.
I did do some googling before I came here and all I've learned is that it's normal for this process to run high at 500mb-700mb, but not 1.3g, let alone 2.7g.
So my questions
-How, if possible, can I minimize the memory load on my laptop to a playable level?
-Why does it run at twice the capacity on my desktop?
-Why isn't my 4 gigs of RAM enough for a 1.3 gig javaw process, but runs just fine when Firefox runs that high?

Curse PremiumDo you have 64 bit Java on the laptop?

Not sure; how to do I check?
