This is single player local world.
I am having an issue where once I kill a bunch of enderman the game slows to a crawl then gradually recovers. I first seen this behavior in 1.9.4 when I built the farm and now in 1.10 it still occurs.
The farm design is the same by Docm77 shown here:
I have made a video of the issue, at 1:45 it starts really slowing down quickly dropping to 1fps for a while then recovering to normal: -video removed-
Anybody know what causes this? I thought it was the enderman AI but even once they are at the mob cap it is still lagged. Then I thought it was the enderpearls. However I have another video of the issue recorded that has far, far more pearls lying on the ground. Meaning it happens regardless of the number of pearls.
look at the E value on the debug screen, at the start you have 70 ish entities in view, when the maybe slowdown hits 2:20 in video, you have 1200 entities in view, thats why there is slowdown, just too much stuff

So Ethoslab released a video using the same mechanic (endermite bait) and he has the same issue. I have seen people use this design before and i've never seen that effect, so at least it isn't just me.
starts at 34m 33s if the video does not link correctly.

Hello Sinxar,
The problem is too many entitys. You are killing the enderman so fast that you are spawning too many entitys. It's will result in lag.
To fix this, i will prefer you to kill some endermans and take the enderpearls. And then kill some news and take the enderpearls. Contiune in this.
Or...
(I dont know if it will work)
In the minecraft launcher, you can put more memory in your game via. your JVM argument.
Check my website to see how to change the JVM argument

yeah its the items and xp dropping form the endermen. theres jsut too much for your computer to handle.
you could try giving more ram to minecraft and increase priority but the priority part might become unstable
So it is just the XP? The game recovers once I stop killing them for a while and I never pick up any of the pearls.

Correct /\
EDIT:
You can also see that your allocated memory is 100%. It can result in lag.
Allocate more memory
(See my last comment)

This has no effect.
Hmm.. Okay.
The problem is too many entitys
