When I run the launcher the update notes tab is blank and I the button says "play offline" rather than "play". I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, not sure what to do next
avast antivirius and qustodio. There are still the same problems when qustodio is uninstalled. Not sure about the antivirus, it was running fine a week ago and none of the settings have changed since then.
Qustodio is know recently to be a big issue for minecraft 1.9, uninstalling has worked for some people, but fir those it hasn't i'm not sure if the program isn't being fully uninstalled or not, it maybe like norton and mcafee where they are just a total pain to fully remove

Thanks, I contact Qustodio and here is the response I received:
This was a known issue and we released a fix that addresses the issue. So, can you please try again to install on your computer by following these exact steps?
- Uninstall any security suite from your computer
- Restart your computer
- Log into the computer with an admin account
- Make sure you are connected to the internet
- Download a fresh version of Qustodio from here: http://www.qustodio.com/family/download
- Follow the installation steps provided.
Then, please make sure to install the very last updates of Windows and of your web browser and restart your computer.
I did this and minecraft is now working fine with no problems. Thanks for your help
