I have downloaded JAVA several times but no matter what i do it won't let me use it to open minecraft forge. does anyone know how i can fix this to properly download minecraft forge
Download which ever version you want then simply double clicking it/opening it from chrome should be enough. If it doesn't work try right clicking and "open with..." then find the path to where you installed java.
the problem is that it wont let me open the minecraft forge document to actually download it.
Since you're on Windows you can actually use the installer to get Forge on your computer.
Check on the Forge download page for your Minecraft version; there's a button called "installer-win", that's the file you want to download, then execute.
You need to do this after installing Minecraft. The installer should figure out where your Minecraft is installed by itself. Select "Install client" if you just play via the Minecraft launcher.
