Since the "Using incremental CMS is deprecated" JAVA problem is intermittent, there are a lot of theories people swear by (delete the JSON, turn off VBOs, change the working directory, !s in username, etc.). We just brought home a new machine from the Microsoft store. Downloaded launcher on 5/28/16. Encountered the crash immediately and it kept happening for a few hours. Then it suddenly worked itself out (we didn't change anything) for half a day. Now it is back.
Sorry if this has been addressed but the other thread I saw on this was locked and pointed to a solution about removing exclamation points. Neither my Windows nor Minecraft usernames have exclamation points. And the machine is brand new and was set up by Microsoft.
Can anyone help? Thanks.
More Detail:
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: Using incremental CMS is deprecated and will likely be removed in a future release
Samples from error file (mostly register addresses etc. which I've excluded; I masked my usernames but they do NOT have special characters)
#
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x00007fff34e06c17, pid=5692, tid=5360
#
# JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (8.0_25-b18) (build 1.8.0_25-b18)
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (25.25-b02 mixed mode windows-amd64 compressed oops)
# Problematic frame:
# C [ig9icd64.dll+0x16c17]
#
# Failed to write core dump. Minidumps are not enabled by default on client versions of Windows
"incremental CMS" is clearly labeled as a warning. It is not your problem or anyone else's problem.
It shows up EVERY TIME if you have the default JVM arguments because one of the default arguments is deprecated and will eventually not be supported. Nevertheless IT WORKS JUST FINE FOR NOW.
On to your real problem which has nothing to do with incremental CMS or any of the threads you have been reading.
You should have read the 1.9 FAQ at the top of the forum. Issue #2.

Thanks for your reply. This makes sense. I will take this up with Microsoft since the drivers appear up to date and they certified the machine.
Up to date or not, Intel drivers have bugs in their OpenGL implementation. Just change your settings as indicated in #2.
