Before today, Minecraft would not even start up. The launcher would get about 90% through the startup then quit. If I use a third party launcher, it would simply let me know it could not download 1.9.jar from "https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.9/1.9.jar" for some reason. I can put in this link and download it manually, which is of no use to me. And you can replace 1.9 with 1.9.4 or 1.8 - nothing. Now today, it decided it wanted to boot up but if I try to play on multiplayer, it just says "Failed to login: Authentication servers are currently down for maintenance" which is definitely not true, as on the website it says they are up.
I have read on the internet that it may have something to do with amazonaws and firewalls, but the thing I saw was from 1.7 so I couldn't do much with it. And if it's of any interest, I do have the latest java and windows 10.
If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this, please don't hesitate to comment!
UPDATE: I restarted my computer for about the 9th time now and apparently, 9th time's the charm. It's 100% functional now. Sooooo... not technically resolved but not a problem anymore.
Thanks to the 0 people who offered a suggestion! xP
I'm kidding, this thread has only been up for about 10 minutes.
