My XP counter is stuck at about 4.5. Everything else in the game seems normal. I'm playing on a world I've played on daily for months. Tonight, my xp counter stopped updating. I can kill mobs, the xp orbs drop, I get the standard collecting xp animation, the standard xp collecting sound, but the counter will not advance.
So one more data point: I played tonight on another saved 1.9.4 world, and everything is working fine. Does this mean my other world is corrupted? I have backups, should I restore the entire folder, or is there one file that might be replaced to solve the problem?
Well, in case anyone finds this thread I thought I'd go ahead and close it off by saying I solved the problem by restoring my world from a backup. Trying to think what I had been doing that may have caused the problem. Only thing I can think of is that I was both teleporting in survival mode, and flying (in creative mode of course) to somewhat distant coordinates to loot desert and jungle temples. Guess that's what I get for cheating!
