I don't know in which section to post this. I couldn't find a support thread.
I just downloaded a mod, saved it to the mod folder in the .minecraft folder, started the game and it crashed right after the loading of the main first page'
It was a mod for 1.9 version. I have no idea where I went wrong because I followed the instructions
Ask for help on that mods forum. It's possible someone here could help you but you don't give us any information at all. What mod is it? Are you sure it doesn't have any dependencies? Do you have any other mods installed? If so what ones?
Instructions were to add the downloaded .jar file to the mods folder.
There was one thing I wasn't sure of though, in my mods folder I have a folder that says 1.9, another folder that says VoxelMods, and a file called mod_voxelmap
Voxel map works just fine too
When I played the game it just crashed. I don't remember what the error message was, it was huge
I found the error log. I also told the developer in the website where I downloaded it.

I am now going to remove that mod and retry again. maybe this time I'll just download to a different place then just copy/paste it to the mod file.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
I crash every time I try to install WAILA (What Am I Looking At)...Is that what you're crashing on too?
Greetings, Earthling!
What mods do you have and what mod crashes the game? Minecraft version? Forge version? And the FULL crash report.
Ok sorry.
MInecraft v 1.9.4
