I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 10 and have installed minecraft.
The only mod installed on it is Optifine at the moment. I am having this issue with 1.9 and higher versions, I have not tested lower versions (don't need them).
Whenever I add a resourcepack that is 32x32 or higher and try to use it my minecraft will either crash or it will take several minutes to switch over to the texturepack and then gives me 0-2FPS while online. If I switch to a 16x16 resourcepack, my FPS shoots up to 72+ and I can move around without lag.
My computer uses a dual core processor of Intel Core i5-5200U/ Nvidia GeForce 940M. I have it set for Nvidia to Run and have confirmed that Nvidia is running for java when I load up minecraft.
I use a 64 bit computer and have 64 bit java installed.
I have allocated more RAM to the Optifine profile and have noticed no difference as well.
At this point I'm frustrated and stumped, I don't know what to do. I've been messing with things for the past couple days trying to get it to cooperate. The only resource pack I like to use is 32x or higher and I can't use it at all since I got this new computer!
I don't have any crash logs now since I was able to stop it from crashing, it was just extremely laggy at 0 FPS.
For whatever reason it is working right now, at this moment. The only thing I did since my last post was install Adobe Flash. I have no idea if that has any effect on MC but.
It's working now?
Still as baffled as ever, but at least I can walk around normally. Phew.

HELP!
Logs might help others to help you, as well as specifying which exact model of GeForce card.
I updated my card info.
