I have a windows 10 laptop and have tried all the minecraft downloads available. It either won't launch and says its due to a fatal error when installing minecraft or it will launch but be so glitchy I can't play. This has happened for all of them after minecraft became 1.9. How do I fix my minecraft so it runs smoothly like it used to?
Sounds like to me that you have either a bad laptop that cannot run the latest version of minecraft, or your internet connection is really poor and can not download the latest version properly, if that being said. Do as instructed from the launcher, go into your .minecraft folder (If you don't know how to youtube search how to) and delete everything in there (Note: Do not delete things like Server.dat, or resource packs) but that may fix the issue. I tried that and it didn't work. Before the 1.9 update minecraft ran smoothly on my computer and I have a good wifi connection.
