I haven't played MC on this rig since last Summer probably, and just updated to 1.9.4 today. Now it seems it doesn't like this update at all. I've updated my drivers, changed the V-Sync/VBO/MipMap, updated Java.
What happens is this: I load from the Launcher, create a world, and it gets stuck on "Loading World..." (for a crazy long time; I went to make lunch and forgot). Loading old worlds, or even worlds created after getting stuck loading, have the same issue.
Thanks in advance for everyone's help. I honestly feel like there's some super obvious solution that I'm looking over, so I'm totally ready to look foolish.

Try to lower the Render Distance to Tiny. Hope this helps.
Either exactly that worked, or finally letting Windows install 232 automatic updates last night worked. Either way, my game plays now!
I don't think it was the render distance.
It looks like a required jar failed to be downloaded causing a crash.
