Suddenly getting fatal errors trying to run the Launcher (not trying to run the game from the launcher, but opening the launcher itself) after a Windows Update / Java update. It worked fine prior to the updates (did today's windows updates first, then installed the Java update after the windows update reboot) and afterward the launcher does not start. Clicking the shortcut on the desktop or in the windows start menu both do nothing other than generate a new error log file.

the crash isn't even in Mojang's code. It's in the AWT (abstract window toolkit) thread.
This points at the Java installation or graphics driver, possibly windows desktop configuration (graphics settings), or the injected DLL from third-party software that are always suspicious (Trusteer Rapport)

I've tried reinstalling Java, uninstalling Java, reinstalling Minecraft, various combinations of that, with no luck.
Windows 7, 64-bit, UAC is disabled at the moment (and was prior to the last install of minecraft).
Any help would be appreciated, I've had no luck on the site here or with the googles.
the crash isn't even in Mojang's code. It's in the AWT (abstract window toolkit) thread.
This points at the Java installation or graphics driver, possibly windows desktop configuration (graphics settings), or the injected DLL from third-party software that are always suspicious (Trusteer Rapport)

I think I got it sorted out now after some driver updates, reinstalls, and reboots.
