Can someone tell me why this is happening?: (see image below)
The FPS is rising (or is it?) occasionally, when that happens, the game will lag for a few seconds and then it is back to normal again, so can someone tell me why this is happening, this doesn't happened before, I am using Windows 10 right now. Is there anyway to make it back to normal? Please reply cause this is really bothering my gameplay.

Current Story Mode Episode 7 Choices:
Did you make Petra angry in the Portal Hallway?
10.0% made nice with Petra.
90.0% and me made Petra angry.
What did you tell PAMA about how you found this world?
55.6% told PAMA the truth.
44.4% and me lied to PAMA.
Which friend did you unchip first?
73.2% unchipped Lukas.

Which potion did you choose to clear a path to PAMA?
I already tried option 1 but still it does it like that, option 2 is optifine but Is it a mod? I know I've heard Optifine many times but if it is a mod, I really dont know how to apply mods in the game.

Lol, I think I know what is going on here, that image is showing high fps dropping every 3 seconds because I guess you have your MipMap level setting set to 4, did'nt you? I suggest you that try turning MipMap setting to off when you think you dont need it. MipMap is an anti-aliasing feature that tries to smooth-en the game performance by rendering preRenderErrors but ironnically it is why the tick usage is really high then dropping your FPS to 0-6 FPS. However, MipMap settings doesn't affect performance on Versions 1.8 below. So yeah give it a shot, if it the lag still occurs, research and try about tinkering on Java Executable and JVM arguments thingy.
Wait I see what was going on here, Ruler was really right, turning MipMap settings to off made by FPS came from 0-6 FPS to 32-76 FPS! Okay the problem is solved and the thread is solved okay. Thanks for all your help guys anyway.

Try these:
-Lowering the settings (e.g. Render distance: Tiny; smooth lighting: off; etc.)
-OptiFine.

Can you give me an example of messing with memory settings please? And JVM arguments too!
