We had Minecraft version 1.9.2 on our Mac. I'm trying to install weather mod 1.8.9 for my son, but cannot get it to work. We downloaded the relative Forge installer file (11.15.1.1722) and the mod file (weather2-1.8.9-2.3.11.jar) from coros.us. Could someone please confirm for me what changes I should find in the Minecraft Application Support Folder and what changes I should find in the Mods folder?
I've tried moving some of the folders provided by the weather mod (weather 2, assets, META-INF, & mcmod.info) between the applications folder and the mods folder, but Minecraft either crashes, or the best I've got it to do is launch using the forge profile but the weather mod is then missing.
Any guidance in getting this weather mod to work would be appreciated.

Mods need an identical version of Minecraft to run properly (unless the author states that a particular mod version works for other Minecraft versions). So that's your problem; trying to run 1.8.x mods on 1.9 (or 1.9.x) will never work.
You need to install Minecraft 1.8.9, install Forge for 1.8.9, and grab the Weather mod version for 1.8.9. All three together should work.

I can't help without more details. Based on what you provided above, the solution I provided should work unless there's part of the install steps that are not respected.
What symptoms are you experiencing?

Thanks for trying to help guys. When we first attempted to install, I couldn't find actual instructions on how to install, so we looked to YouTube for guidance. There isn't anything specific for version 1.8.9 going onto a Mac so I did the best I could (obviously not good enough ). What I can say is this... The weather mod jar produces the four files weather 2, assets, META-INF, & mcmod.info like I mention in my original post. If I'm not mistaken, all these four are to be placed in the "mods" folder. Currently, if all four files are in there, Minecraft crashes. If I exclude the weather 2 folder, it launches, but in the main menu you can see it only indicates 3 mods when my son tells me it should indicate 8 mods. For some reason it seems to reject everything when I try to put what I assume is the main folder for this mod into Minecraft's mods folder.

Thanks for reply. Will try and advise...
I did everything. But, still no luck. Any other solutions would be fantastic. Thanks again.
