As the title says, no matter what optifine settings I turn off or on, Better Grass, Connected Textures, anything, Better Grass is always on in game. I have even opened the config file and manually set the settings to off before opening the game, with no avail. Normally Id have no problem whatsoever with this since I prefer using better grass, but it is creating another problem. The dirt block below the grass block is invisible. It doesn't matter what resource pack I am in either, it occurs in vanilla just as it does in BDcraft Sphax, the pack I normally use. This is a pretty big issue since this effectively is an xray and on servers this normally is a bannable offense. It is also quite an annoyance to look at in general.
I am using Forge 1.9 12.16.0.1865 and Optifine 1.9.0_HD_U_B1

Unless I am mistaken on what the official site for the Optifine download is, that isn't the case. I just checked and downloaded the 1.9.0 version and checked it out with the same issue of better grass being forever on, despite settings. When better grass is off or on Fancy and if the grass block has a dirt block beneath it, the grass block has all 4 sides textured like the top and the dirt block's 4 sides looks like the vanilla grass block. When the grass block has any other block beneath it, it has the proper vanilla grass texture on the appropriate sides, but not on sides that connect to another grass block below and one block away. When changing the better grass setting to fancy, the dirt below the grass block is textured as normal dirt.
From what I remember, when better grass was turned off the game was supposed to render the grass blocks like vanilla, no full grass texture on the sides of the grass block at all. If there is something else causing that feature, I really have no idea how to find it.
I haven't yet encountered the invisible dirt block below the grass block yet, but I haven't tested this particular Optifine file long to make sure that problem is done with. The fact that better grass still cant be disabled fully has me questioning it none the less.

I think you installed the fake ones from the website that stole this mod and then changed the source code.
