Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
Corsair 760W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
I built it last fall and have been able to run pretty much any game without a hitch. The only thing that gives me trouble is Minecraft, of course, the hardest game in the world to run. I'm able to play it fine without recording, but anytime I try recording with Dxtory my frames go all over the place and usually can't get above 50, which is extremely frustrating. I know Dxtory is quite demanding but it's only with Minecraft that I can't get it to work at all, and I've seen plenty of people with lower specs than me record it in 1080 at 60 FPS. Does somebody know where I can start trying to fix this problem?

While you're recording, can you post a screenshot of what your performance tab in task manager looks like, sorted by highest CPU usage?
