I'm using a Macbook Air 13inch with OS X El Captain 10.11.3
Pretty much ever since 1.9 came out, I've been waiting for 1.9 forge. When it arrived, I downloaded it, got a mod (Lucky block mod 1.9) and opened minecraft.
It crashed. I tried with every forge version I had with the same result. Can anybody help????

I've been downloading mods for ages and It's always worked fine. It just hasn't worked since 1.9 came out. I can't use mods for 1.8, 1.7, 1.9, anything.
I've heard about some sort of cleanup going on, but then mods and forge still work fine for my friends and everyone else I know...

Basically, you must have extracted the jar file into a folder. Do not do that, as Forge will not be able to load the mod.
Just put the jar file you downloaded into the mods folder as it is. And get rid of any other folders in there.
If you still don't know what I mean, take a screenshot of your mods folder
Okay right, do you see? Lucky Blocks is a folder, instead of a single file. It needs to be a single file.
First, delete all 3 folders you have in there. You don't need them. Then, download Lucky Blocks and copy the file into the mods folder. Don't do anything else to it.

Here is a pic of my mods folder:
The two folders saying 1.8 and 1.7.10 are empty and were there automatically, so I left them there...

Ok that worked. But can you please explain why this is happening since 1.9. Before, I could use any mods fine even as folders.
I use Chrome.
Anyway Thanks for the help!
