I can't seem to play Minecraft 1.9! The highest snapshot update I can play is 16w04a. If I play any further snapshots, or even the official release, and then click Play, it just doesn't do anything at all, no matter how many times I click it! I'm using the 1.6.48 launcher, so is it the launcher update? It would be greatly appreciated if I could get any help!
Also sometimes if I open a minecraft world, it just goes to this message:

What are your specs? Copy and paste or screenshot them from the "dxdiag" tool. If you're on Win7 or higher, simply press "Home", type in "dxdiag" and a window should pop up.
Wherever your Minecraft.exe is, there could also be a folder named "game" and "runtime". Delete the contents of the "game" folder. By that I mean delete "launcher.jar" inside of the "game" folder and run Minecraft.exe. It should then update itself.
You still didn't tell me what your hardware is. Please do the following and snap two pictures like I did below. Then I can guide you based on what kind of hardware you're using.
I've had the "Display driver stopped reposnding" pop up earlier myself due to outdated drivers.

Curse PremiumI have launcher 1.6.61. You can force-update it by deleting and redownloading your launcher from Minecraft.net.
Click here for Kit Spleef's forum page.

Sometimes if I play Minecraft, the game freezes and I get the following message:
"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"
That can also be an issue sometimes.
I hope you can help me with that!

This is an ancient crash caused by broken AMD video drivers.
So should I update the driver?
