Hello, I have two laptops sitting literally inches apart and they can't find eachother for minecraft.. which is kind of annoying.
They are both on Windows 10, both on the same wifi at my house, and on the same version of minecraft wether that be 1.9.2 or 'use latest version'.
It was just the other day my brother showed me how to set up a lan game.
You get on the same wifi and have one computer at the multiplayer screen and one in a single player world and then select open to lan and okay it.
This worked when he showed me and the only issue was my skin wouldnt show up.
But it was almost as soon as my brother had left, that all of a sudden the Lan game doesnt show up in the multiplayer screen anymore.
Networking isn't really my forte so i dont know if i forgot a step, or if some firewall thing has to be changed (or even how to do that...)
But i just want to get a simple vanilla minecraft lan world going so my wife and i can play together. Preferably on 1.9.
Thanks so much
Thank you It took some tinkering around but i finally got it working.
it looks like the allowed programs were there but set to only public and not private, and after turning private on, it let me right in
now if i can just figure out how to make it show our skins.. even if retrieved locally somehow that would be amazing.
