I've been away from the Minecraft scene for quite awhile now (since bats and horses came out) and upon my return things are different.
I've been trying to get my Forge and Optifine to work together in one profile but I haven't figured out how: I either have to play with Forge active (which makes my map mod run) or play with my Optifine profile (with no maps but FPS boosted). Obviously this is a dilemma.
What I've done so far:
Resource pack works in the resource file
Installed Forge using the Win Installer from the website
Installed Optifine using the Win Installer
Installed Map Writer directly to the mod folder
I apologize if this is the wrong thread, please redirect me.
Optifine doesn't need it's own profile it can run inside the Forge environment. Download the Optifine .Jar and put it into the mods folder and use the Forge profile. The installer is simply an option there for those just wanting vanilla with Optifine.

Thanks a lot. This worked.
