So, I built myself a computer several months ago to run The Division on almost max settings (which it does flawlessly). I decided to start up minecraft again (1.7.10) and after loading up a bunch of mods, the game runs pretty crappy. Now, before you say "try increasing the amount of memory", I already have.
Minecraft Mods List: Starting Inventory, Carpenter's Blocks, Treecapitator, Ancient Warfare 2, Big Reactors, Buildcraft, Chest Transporter, Forestry, Jabba, Inventory Tweaks, Journeymap, Multipage Chest, Not Enough Items, Thermal Expansion, Thermal Dynamics, Thaumcraft, Tinker's Construct, Solar Flux and Railcraft
I'm running sphax 128x textures, as well as optifine. I tried allocating 8gigs of ram but every minute or two, minecraft kind of pauses for a second, then resumes. Watching the ram usage of the game, it goes up continually until it hits 100% (which is when it pauses), then goes back to about 50% and repeats the process. I tried changing various settings via optifine to no success. Frustrated, I tried allocating 16gigs, still the same issue.
My old laptop ran minecraft 1.7.10 with these mods plus way more on only 4 gigs without this issue (which makes me think it might be a windows 10 issue since my laptop had windows 7 and my current pc has windows 10)
Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix this?
