I've been unable to play Minecraft since the update to 1.9, as I am getting around 1 FPS in the game, including the main menu. From the many threads and bug reports I've sifted through, I'm assuming it's my integrated graphics card that is the problem. I've tried everything on the following pages:
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

I can tell you that it is definitely not a graphics or processor issue, as I also have the i5-4210U, and mine can run it fine. Just letting you know so you can rule it out as a possibility.

Weird, from everything that I've read it seemed almost certain that it is a graphics issue. All the bug reports submitted to Minecraft with this issue are closed and linked back to the "Broken Intel HD Graphics card driver" bug report that I linked in the original post. We could potentially have different graphics drivers, however I have tried both updating and rolling back the driver, with no effect on the problem.
the bug reports and fixes you are looking at are for crashing drivers, your drivers are not crashing, your just not getting the performance you expect, thats why the fixes aren't working for you, your trying to fix a problem that you don't have.
can you post a game output log from the launcher while playing, that may show if the game is having any issues, a Hijackthis log might also be an idea so we can see if there is anything odd running on your computer
Trend Micro HijackThis is a utility that is used to collect diagnostic reports of your computer to help narrow down an issue you may be having. Download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt
Run the program, choose "I accept", then "Do a scan and save a log file". After a while a text file will open. Copy everything, put the log on http://paste.ubuntu.com and give us the link.
Thanks for your reply! It seems you have fixed my problem!!!
The files I had previously used to update/roll back my graphics came directly from the Acer website, as instructed for this particular laptop. However, it appears that the drivers being hosted by Acer are very much out of date. I had to uninstall and delete the existing drivers to convince the system to accept the ones from the Intel website, however once I had done that, Minecraft began running perfectly!
Hi!
I've been unable to play Minecraft since the update to 1.9, as I am getting around 1 FPS in the game, including the main menu. From the many threads and bug reports I've sifted through, I'm assuming it's my integrated graphics card that is the problem. I've tried everything on the following pages:

http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/pixel-format-not-accelerated/
https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-32606
However, nothing has helped. Does anyone have any other ideas for me? Or is this something that needs to be fixed at Mojang's end?
The DxDiag for my laptop is at the following link:

If anyone can help me I will be eternally grateful!
How about trying OptiFine to prevent lagging despite using only Intel HD Graphics?
Gave that a shot. It gives me about 2 FPS in the menu, so a small improvement, but still very much unplayable. Thanks though!
DId you also have the background apps running while you are playing MC?

Nope, even with all non-essential processes closed, the issue still occurs.

Did you try setting the render to 2 chunks (or tiny), or how about try lowering the settings in Minecraft?

the dxdiag you posted shows your graphics drivers are way out dated, https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25860/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen- are the current ones for your GPU.

In case anyone else has a similar problem, it seems like there was some sort of GL error. I'm unable to interpret it any further though.
