I am sorry if this is under the wrong folder. I recently downloaded Optifine for 1.9.2 and when I entered the game it had all of the new settings but did not have an increase in FPS. Does anyone know what is wrong? Thank you
Play around with the settings and see if you can get a performance boost. I recommend turning on Fast Render and Fast Math. Optifine doesn't magically boost your FPS, and it doesn't make things better on all computers.
Optifine isn't a cure all for lag, it can cause a slight increase on some systems and have no effect on others. There are other (better working) performance enhancing mods out for older versions (like FastCraft and BetterFPS) but currently none are available for 1.9. To boost performance use Fast Math, Fast Render, set particles to decreased (or off), and disable effects like clear water and connected textures.
