Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.main.Main Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: Using incremental CMS is deprecated and will likely be removed in a future release
Then it downloads 1.9.1 jar and can't connect to my servers because they are 1.9.2
I went to try and log in about an hour ago(12pm Eastern Time) and have had the same problem. My son who has his own account/computer has this issue as well.
[EDIT: 2:35pm Easter Time] : Started game again and issue seems to have resolved itself, on both computers/accounts.
I'm having the same issue. I have a realm, a player on it was glitching out, after breaking a bed, was stuck in it. So I closed the realm and reopened it, and reloaded my minecraft launcher in the process, and now getting that error:
Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.main.Main

Same issue. Worked fine late into the night, last night. Woke up to work on a redstone contraption I'm building, and same error.
[EDIT]: I deleted Java, redownloaded, restarted computer, and it seems to be working fine for me, now. I'm on Mac OS X. Not sure if it's coincidence that this worked, or if it actually fixed it. Worth a try. Good luck!
We encountered the same problem after updateing graphics drivers (both have the GTX 970 graphics cards). The game ran fine though was lagging slightly for me before (around 10 minutes ago).
Update: For us the problem solved itself after waiting a little while. No idea what happened or why.

What's going on and when will it be fixed?
I'm having the same problem,
It was working yesterday...
edit: The issue seems to have fixed itself.
Same problem. Was working fine yesterday.
I run Minecraft through steam, which could be part of the problem. If you're having it too, then there's probably more to it.
I'm not playing multiplayer, so it's not much more than an annoyance to me, but would still like to know a fix.
EDIT: This would make for a terrible April fools joke. And they're a bit early for it.
Game was playing fine for me this morning.

I had a same problem but I try to edit Profile and User version from 'Use Latest Version' to 'release 1.9.2', then the problem does not occur now.
I don't know what was wrong but can do workaround.
Last time I tried it uploaded a new patch and everything is working fine now.
