I wanted to try and find out why I'm having performance issues with the SEUS Shaders. I should not be having issues with this mod based on my system specs (see below) and I have been working on this for some time now without much success.
I have the latest version of Optifine installed (Optifine 1.9.0 HD U B1) which I believe was just released today, but I have also tried several other versions of Optifine. I think that the GLSL shaders mod is now being coupled with Optifine but I also reverted back to an older profile specifically for the shaders mod only and still got the same results.
My performance results are that that I average around 25 fps with SEUS shaders. It doesn't matter how much I drop my render distance or tweak any other video settings, the fps still hovers around 25 and often drops into the teens. I have the latest version of java installed and the most updated GPU drivers.
My system specs:
Intel Core i7 4790k
Nvidia GTX 980ti
16gb Ram
500gb SSD
Corsair Water Cooler H105
Asus Z97 motherboard
I run every other game I play at ultra with an excessively high frame rate and no other significant performance problems. In Minecraft I can max out the render distance (I have adjusted the JVM arguments line in the profile settings to allocate 12gbs of RAM for the game) and the game will tend to use about 8gbs of RAM, more if I travel around the world a bit.
So, I'm at a loss. I see people posting videos with less robust systems getting much higher frame rates and I can't figure out why. If any of you could offer any help or suggestions I'd be grateful.
Hey everyone,
I'm new here but not so new with Minecraft.

Cheers.
I cannot get 1.9.0 HD U B1 to even run. It just tells me no mods are located.
Hey, I'm a bit of an old hand with SEUS/Shader issues, so I'm sure we can get this sorted, but I'm gonna need some info.
I know it's a lot of into, but I can't help if I don't know what how things are set up.
