Well the title says it all. After clicking play, I keep crashing. I tried to connect to multiplayer servers. Initially (first 3 seconds) it looks like as if it is going to play, but then I get the message below (I copy+pasted the entire error report).
I have just bought a new laptop. I have been reading in forums other people's posts for solutions. I have updated the java to the most current version. I have used their link on their website to clean up old files from previous version. I have updated my graphic card. I have downloaded windows 10 beta for minecraft. I have also heard that edge and minecraft don't work well together. So I tried to follow some steps to disable edge as best as I can (not sure if I successfully did that or not, but I tried).
I am out of options... not sure what else to do and I am still getting the crash reports. I have two frustrated kids at home who are eager to play, and I am even more frustrated that I couldn't figure this thing out!! Can someone PLEASEEEE help me. I am about to lose my mind.
Thank you soo much!!

Cherry_sparkles, I am sorry If I am ignorant about this game stuff... I do have a laptop with windows 10, and I did download the Minecraft windows 10 beta upgrade. So, I thought the icon on my computer desktop screen (which says it's version 1.9) is indeed the windows 10 beta version.
I am not sure what you mean as the Java being a different game. The only reason why I mentioned the Java was because the crash report mentioned it and while I was searching for some answers on internet, I have seen people suggesting updating java to most current version, which I did. But obviously it didn't fix my problem.
I also have the xbox live account where my daughter can play minecraft, but she enjoys her current Minecraft account player name and she has a realm etc... It seemed like I couldn't get her to use the same player name on xbox live account. It kind of forced me to set up a new account and hence a new name, which she wasn't very happy about. Not sure if the realm I subscribed through mojang would have played through xbox live account... I had many whitelisted kid friendly servers set up for her on our regular minecraft account.
I just wished the icon I have on the desktop for Minecraft would just work like a charm with a click of a button and didn't give me such headache!
arrgghh.. why does this have to be this difficult... I don't get it.
I guess I am officially too old for this stuff LOL
"1.9" is the java, original, PC, full, whatever you want to call it, 6-year old version. Cherry posted their forum's link above.
It's a different version than MC: Windows 10 Beta Edition. currently 0.14.0, that's only been out a few months (the version this forum is dedicated to. This forum is not for "any ole version of MC that runs in Windows 10"). In other words, there's two completely different MC versions/games that run in Windows 10 and people confuse the Windows 10 (the OS) and 'Windows 10' (the game) all the time and post in the wrong forum.. ("Hey, this says Windows 10, and I'm running Windows 10, so this must be the place!").
You don't have Windows 10 Beta Edition. You have the java version. It doesn't use Live, and you can't play with your daughter (if she uses Live, she's playing the Windows 10 Beta Edition. Check her icon- bet it's different than yours). All minecraft's are not the same- there's different versions of "Minecraft", each a separate game unto itself. Also, the Win10 version is still in "beta", so she can't play on all those "white listed" servers you mentioned. Win10 can only play on PE (version) servers (maybe- the hookup is really "iffy" right now)- not any java version servers.
I just wished the icon I have on the desktop for Minecraft would just work like a charm with a click of a button and didn't give me such headache!
It's your luck day! That describes the Windows 10 Beta Edition exactly. It can be obtained through the Windows Store. Just be sure you're signed in as you on your computer, and use your Live account. Once you get it, you and your daughter can play together via LAN with no problems.
Note that Win10 and the java version are two separate games. Both can be on your computer at the same time, and you can even run both at the same time.... but they are not compatible with each other in any way.
