I have the notorious "double-placement" bug, that isn't a bug. I've seen the numerous posts about it being related to lag and I just wanted to try to expand on that.
Just so we're on the same page, this is placing 2 blocks in rapid succession when only clicking once. Most say this is due to lag and not a bug. The various solutions are turning down graphics settings and getting optifine, killing background processes, or (what I feel is a bit trollish*) upgrading the computer. I've attempted all but the last, but I'm still having the issue crop up.
I'm trying to run vanilla 1.9 with optifine. I have a core i7-481MQ w/ 16 gB RAM, GTX 870M 6 gB edition, and I'm on Windows 10. I'm running the latest drivers and java installs as well. I tried fine tuning the graphics prior to optifine with no change. I got the optifine pre-release for 1.9 and tuned those settings down al the way. At these minimum settings is where I thought I had actually succeeded, but then during gameplay it came back.
None of this really makes any sense to me because I also run Feed The Beast with 1.7.10 Direwolf20 and even with all those extra mods, no sign of this issue, and that's at higher graphics settings. Anyone care to try and work with me on this?
*trollish because people probably had good play before this came up for the first time, so, like me, they are just confused.
I hadn't read about that before. I wonder if there is a way to optimize either your mouse, or the LWJGL in the background. Maybe an AutoHotkey script or something even. Thanks for the additional information.
