So ever since I've gotten my ASUS ROG G20 I've had nothing but problems with it for Minecraft. Every single other game runs fine but for some reason my PC has a problem with Java. It's a 64-bit PC therefore I have the latest version of java 64-bit installed. Now before you ask - no it's not fps lag, it's internet lag. You know, where everything like the movement of mobs is completely delayed. This is even happening to me in singleplayer and honestly it's annoying me to no end because it makes MC basically just a chore to play. Now I actually solved this issue by finding out that a program called AEGIS II and those associated with it seemed to cause the lag but since my PC has updated, the lag has returned and closing these programs no longer works. I've even gone as far as to uninstall AEGIS II completely and to no result. But it's strange, after I re-installed java 64-bit before the update and after closing out AEGIS II completely once or twice it seemed like the lag just didn't return even with AEGIS II running. But now after the update Minecraft once again lags on the entire client no matter what version I'm using (tested on 1.7.10, 1.8.9, and 1.9). This is an extremely irritating issue and I'd love to get it solved so that I may enjoy the game once again. Not only that, but my chunks also seem to be loading slower and in lesser amounts. Yes my render distance is up, I have 4 GB of RAM allocated as well to Minecraft. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm in the very same spot. I'm running many other High GPU requirement games in a ASUS ROG 17'' laptop (i7 2600, GTX 960M 2Gb and 16Gb RAM) and I have no problems anywhere but Minecraft seems to just lag, not the game itself which runs smooth with around 125FPS usingthe highest config but Mobs just don't refresh their position and interacting with them or some objects (combat or even the crafting table, furnace or a chest) has a around 1sec delay and this is fatal when you're out trying to deal with a gang of bad guys :(.
I've tried quite a lot of different things, using 32bits jre, using 64bits, the default one (included in Minecraft), the latest one. My minecraft is using my GTX GPU as you can see in the video and I have allocated 2Gb for it. I've activated and deactivated many video configurations (VBO, Vertical sync, lowered details) and I get even more FPS (over 200 or 250) but I still get the lag in combat or when using the crafting table/furnace/chest. I've got MC installed in my SSD as well.
I've tried getting back to 1.8.9 and still happens the same, I was playing MC 1.8.9 before in a Macbook Pro and had no issues at all so I believe is something related to Windows or the dual GPU... dunno. I've attached a video so you can see what I'm talking about.
Some help would be really appreciated.
I can see why animals are lagging... Look at your allocated memory
After closing a few ASUS programs, including some running off SYSTEM rather than user, and it seemed to work. I've also closed out an application titled GameManager or something along those lines, all in processes.

BASIC SPECS:
16GB RAM
GTX 970 4GB GPU
Intel Core i7 2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz

how do you fix it
Allocated is at max, probably due to having set Xms.
I never saw used hit 500M though.
Post your JVM argument, please.
I am using this
Thanks for saying that! - I will keep that in my head
